revered, respected, cherished and protected in an entirely different way than we find in the West, which I found refreshing. Contrary to popular belief, the
Chinese are incredibly warm people with a level of generosity that rivals our well known “Southern Hospitality”. The policy of one child per family engenders
a feeling of value for each child that is astonishing, whether they are girls or boys.
